From observation to inspiration.

I write and take photographs for organisations, brands and causes I believe in. Whether in Dutch or in English, my stories capture what makes a place, experience or object worth paying attention to.

Sometimes that means sharing the things that inspire me. Sometimes it means asking how we could make the places around us better.

Here are a few examples of my work.

Every couple of months, I publish an article on the website of Platform GRAS, an organisation in Groningen that facilitates public debate about urban and rural development.

My stories tend to focus on the countryside and how we might make it better, accompanied by atmospheric photographs.

The Longest Road Out is an exploration-based travel concept including an immersive travelogue and interactive website, built around a unique hundred-day journey around Britain and Ireland in an iconic motor car.

Over 2000 copies of the book were sold. While I’ve decided not to pursue this project further, you might be lucky enough to find one second-hand!

Fair Isle With Marie

I was fortunate enough to work with Marie Bruhat, creating brand photography for her textile and knitwear studio on Fair Isle, the UK’s most remote inhabited island.

Marie combines traditional island craftsmanship with contemporary design: she creates made-to-order knitwear and hosts small, immersive knitting holidays at her croft.
